If you’re considering Aluminium louvre windows for your home, there are a few things you should know. In this blog post, we’ll go over the pros and cons of Aluminium louvre windows to help you make an informed decision.

Aluminium Louvre Windows – The Pros:

When it comes to airflow, Louvres are the best in the business. As the blades are able to open to a completely flat angle they are able to allow for the most controllable amount of airflow.
Louvres are a versatile window that can come in multiple configurations, these can include tall single bays, multiple bays and of course integrated next to both doors and fixed panels to give the benefits of the louvre while having the functionality of what it is paired with. The glass is also able to be swapped out for aluminium blades to still gain the advantages of the louvres while keeping full privacy when closed.
As they offer access to both sides of the glass, louvre windows are incredibly easy to clean and do not require any special treatment.

Aluminium Louvre Windows – The Cons:

A downsize of louvres is of course there price, of which there is multiple contributing factors, the main being the amount of metal and glass compared to other windows.
While the airflow cannot be beat, acoustic performance is the Achilles Heel of the louvre window, as they are just panels of glass they are not able to create are good enough seal to keep out (or for that matter in) much sound. We are also not able to put laminate glass into a louvre due to the risk of the panel delaminating in the clips.
The final downside of our louvres is of course there inability to be double glazed, while this is not a common suggestion we make for our customers in the Queensland climate, it is of course a point to be noted.

There you have it! Those are the pros and cons of aluminium louvre windows. As you can see, there are both benefits and drawbacks to consider before making your final decision. We hope this blog post has helped you in your window shopping journey!
